Boonerang - Music & Arts Festival

Boonerang is a free, family-friendly festival celebrating music, art, and community in the heart of downtown Boone. The event features multiple stages showcasing performers with ties to the High Country, along with local food trucks, craft beer, artisan vendors, a dedicated kids’ zone, and unique experiences like silent discos and afterparties.

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games

Held each July at MacRae Meadows, the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games celebrate Scottish heritage with one of the most iconic gatherings in the U.S. The event features traditional music, dance, piping, athletic competitions, and a vibrant display of Scottish clans and culture. A long-standing tradition in the High Country, the Games also support local students through scholarship opportunities for higher education.

Valle Country Fair

Held each October in the heart of Valle Crucis, the Valle Country Fair is a beloved fall festival featuring handmade crafts, mountain music, local food, and family-friendly fun. Founded over 45 years ago as a small church fundraiser, it has grown into a major cm hot apple butter and barbecue to artisan booths and live storytelling, it's a true celebration of all things homegrown and handmade.

Note: The 2024 fair was canceled due to Hurricane Helene, but organizers continue to support local families and nonprofits through alternative efforts. Admission to the Valle Country Fair is always free, with paid parking available on site. If you attend in the future, please consider making a donation to help support the fair’s charitable mission.
